Photographer and writer in love with classic style, vintage travel and bygone times …

I’m an Italian photographer and writer now based in Milan after years spent abroad living in Kenya, Scotland and England. I divide my time between fine art photography projects and travel and lifestyle photography work for romantic, nostalgic and classic brands as well as independent magazines.

A wanderer and polymath, I’m passionate about literature, vintage travel and bygone times. Taking up photography as a full time career in 2016 is been for me a turning point and the beginning of an ongoing journey of healing and self-discovery.

My creative journey is driven by the need of uncovering beauty as a pure form of truth amongst the noise and the clutter of modern day existence. This quest for the sole and essential aesthetic delight translates into an evocative and whimsical style, where an oneiric dimension is to be found everywhere and the ordinary is transfigured into a melody of verses that cushions and protects us from the harshness of reality.

My visual language is guided by the necessity of re-enchanting the world, bringing magic and beauty into everyday life. My images are atmospheric, nostalgic and timeless. Reality is filtered and polished, rarefied and refined.

At the heart of it all is the primary need to escape the unromantic, dreary and materialistic waves of our time by painting a poetic veil over it, creating a place of calm and grace.

My fine art work is mainly created in solitude and includes still-life studies, landscape photography and self-portraiture. It is sold in my online shop and selected online galleries. For magazines, I weave together words and images to paint nostalgic and timeless journeys in lands near and far. I help small brands with creative direction, styling and photography creating bespoke work to bring their vision to life.

If I’m is not in my studio, reading, studying and planning my next adventure, you’re sure to find me walking in the woods and falling in love with nature in the company of my beloved dachshunds, Asali and Kassie.

SHE CALLED HERSELF EUROPA
AND WANDERED THE WORLD FROM CHILDHOOD TILL DEATH.
SHE LIVED EVERY KIND OF LIFE AND DREAMT EVERY KIND OF DREAM.
SHE WAS WILD IN HER WANDERING, A DROP OF FREE WATER. SHE BELONGED TO NO MAN AND NO CITY.
SHE BELIEVED ONLY IN HER LIFE AND HER DREAMS.
HER GOD WAS BEAUTY

Six things you might not know about me:

1. I have two beautiful teenage children and I am a proud single mum - this photo was actually taken by my son.

2. I don’t know what it is to be bored… I have so many interests that I would probably need 50 lives to go through them all.

3. I should have been a Classic scholar. I’ll have to leave that for another life but I am still hopeful on a Phd, some day.

4. I am an Aquarius through and through and I am deep in the study of Astrology at the moment.

5. Part of my heart will always be on the plains of Africa and the other on the highlands of Scotland.

6. I am perfectly content with a good book on my laps and a cup of tea in my hand or walking the woods with my inseparable doxies, my very best friends and travel companion.
